Wind Simulation & Wind Load Generation

With the stand-alone program RWIND Simulation, wind flows around simple or complex structures can be simulated by means of a digital wind tunnel.

The generated wind loads acting on these objects can be imported to RFEM or RSTAB.

  1. Streamline Diagram

Wind Load on Rectangular, Rounded Structural Components

The wind load of rectangularly rounded structural components is a complex matter. The equivalent forces from wind load depend on the strength of the circulating wind load and the component geometry.

  2. Shear Deformations of Framework Structures in Timber Construction

In current literature, the formulas to determine internal forces and deformations manually are usually specified without considering the shear deformation. Especially in timber construction, the deformations resulting from shear force are often underestimated.

  3. Figure 01 - System

    Pipes under internal pressure load

Piping systems are exposed to a variety of loads. Among the most authoritative is the internal pressure. This article will therefore deal with the stresses and deformations resulting from a pure internal pressure load in the pipe wall or for the pipe.
  4. Transferring National Annexes to Other Computers

RFEM and RSTAB provide the option to create national annexes with user‑defined partial safety factors and combination coefficients. It is also possible to transfer them to other computers.

  5. Direct Sending of Model

By clicking “File” → “Send ...”, you can directly send a model by e‑mail. Before doing this, it is important to save the file.

  6. Mouse Functions

Rotating in the work window is one of the most important functions allowing you to enter a model graphically in RFEM or RSTAB.

  7. Local Softlock License

Dlubal Software provides students the complete range of its products during their studies free of charge. The licensing is done by a so-called softlock, taking into account the following.

  8. Roundup Function

In RFEM and RSTAB, you can use formulas to determine a numerical value. In addition to general mathematical operations, verification and max/min functions are also possible. A roundup function is not included. However, it can be mapped using the available functions:

  9. Specifying Add-on Module as Favorite

In RSTAB and RFEM, you can specify add‑on modules as favourites. By doing this, you create a new folder in the Data navigator under “Add‑on Modules”. The programs added to the favourites appear first in the list of add‑on modules.

  10. Management of SRM Network Dongles

A network dongle is the appropriate solution to ensure security for the licensing within companies working with several RFEM and/or RSTAB licenses. First, the dongle is placed on a central server. Then, users of RFEM and RSTAB as well as of all other stand‑alone programs inquire the licenses across the network on this dongle.
