Global structural model in RFEM representing the dam
The image shows the global structural model in RFEM of the Escaba Dam in Argentina. The lack of original design documents, limitations in the project information, and the presence of visible cracking in some struts make it necessary to evaluate the dam’s structural capacity. The stresses obtained from the global model are transferred to the local models to analyze the response of the reinforced concrete under different bending and tensile conditions, comparing the damage patterns obtained with the historical cracking pattern observed in service.
