Hello,

Spring conferences are back! If you're traveling to Portland, OR next week for the International Mass Timber Conference, we look forward to seeing you at Booth #314. Learn more about mass timber design such as CLT and glulam members in the all new RFEM 6.

We'll also be at NASCC, April 12th-14th, at Booth #1701 showcasing our new steel connection design in RFEM 6. Hope to see you there!

Best Regards,

Shear Resistance According to ACI 318‑19 in RFEM 6

With the most recent ACI 318-19 standard, the long-term relationship to determine the concrete shear resistance, Vc, is redefined. With the new method, the member height, the longitudinal reinforcement ratio, and the normal stress now influence the shear strength, Vc. This article describes the shear design updates, and the application is demonstrated with an example.

Consideration of p‑δ Second‑Order Effects in RFEM 6

in RFEM 6 second-order effects, including little p-δ, are by default automatically taken into account under Load Combinations when the analysis type is set accordingly. In the second-order analysis calculation, with respect to p-δ, the curvature found locally along a member is taken into account, which is caused by secondary moments as member lateral deflects.

Plastic Material Model for Weld Design

Here, the weld design becomes child's play. Using the specially developed material model "Orthotropic | Plastic | Weld (Surfaces)", you can calculate all stress components plastically. The stress τperpendicular is also considered plastically.

Transfer of Support Forces from Other Model

Transfer of Support Forces from Other Model

This function provides you with the option to adopt reaction forces from other models as nodal and line loads.

The option not only transfers the reaction load as an action, but digitally couples the support load of the original model with the load size of the target object. The subsequent changes in the original model are automatically adopted in the target model.
