It often happens that I need to know self-weight of the structure when modeling, which is easy to obtain by running the plausibility check (specification of the kN in the top row).
If I need only the weight of the individual types of beams to see, for example, how much S235 or S355 is used, then I don't know any other way than to look at the printout report, which is not all that handy, because I have to add all members with the same cross-section or the same steel grade.
Is there a simpler solution for this issue?
You can display the center of gravity and further information of parts of the structure already during the specification of the system.
To do this, first select the relevant part of the structure or the entire structure. Then, right-click the selected objects to open the context menu, and click "Center of Gravity and Info." A dialog box opens where you can see the weight [kg] of the selected parts of the structure.
If you want to show the information for S235 or S355 separately, you can select the structural components by using the function "Special Selection" with reference to the material of the individual members.
