Is it possible to divide a tapered member in such a way that the interpolated cross-section is automatically determined at the division point? Furthermore, can I modify the cross-section of tapered continuous members by changing the cross-section depth of one member (start, middle, or end of continuous members) so that the cross-section depth for the remaining members is automatically determined?

回答

If tapered members are divided, then the intermediate cross-sections are determined only for the welded IS-section (I symmetric), so that the taper remains. However, this is only possible if the parameters differ only in one value.

If, for example, the IS-sections are defined as:

IS 300/150/7.1/10.7/15
IS 600/150/7.1/10.7/15

so that only the depth differs, you can calculate the intermediate sections automatically.

For all other cross-sections or for several different parameters, the automatic division does not work. In this case, you first have to determine the "Intermediate Cross-Sections," and then assign them manually to the corresponding members, respectively. The same applies to continuous members.
