10.1.6 Inserting Graphics and Texts

Inserting Graphics and Texts

External graphics and texts can also be integrated into the printout report of RFEM.

Graphics

To insert an image that is not an RFEM graphic, you first need to open the graphic file in an image editor (e.g. MS Paint) and then copy it to the clipboard using [Ctrl]+[C].

To insert the graphic from the clipboard into the printout report, use the menu option

    • Insert → Image from Clipboard.

Before it is inserted, you have to enter a chapter name for the new graphic.

The graphic appears as a separate chapter in the printout report.

Texts

You can also add short, user-defined notes to the printout report. To use this function, select the printout report menu entry

    • Insert → Text Block.

Enter the Title and the Text. After clicking [OK], the chapter is inserted at the end of the printout report. Then you can use the drag-and-drop function to move it to the desired place in the printout report.

In the selection mode (see Table 10.3), you can retroactively modify the text with a double-click. Alternatively, right-click the heading in the navigator and then select Properties in the shortcut menu.

Text and RTF files

Text files in ASCII format and formatted RTF files including embedded graphics can be integrated into the printout report. Hence, you can save recurring texts in files to use them in the report.

This function also allows you to integrate analysis data from other design programs into the printout report, provided that the results are available in ASCII or RTF format.

To insert text and RTF files, select the printout report menu item

    • Insert → Text File.

First, the Windows dialog box Open appears where you can select the file. After clicking the [Open] button, the chapter is added to the end of the printout report. Then you can use the drag-and-drop function to move the chapter to the desired place in the printout report.

In the selection mode (see Table 10.3), you can retroactively modify the text with a double-click. The Import Text dialog box appears for user-defined adjustments.
