Is it possible in RSTAB and RFEM to define a nodal support in such a way that no lifting support reactions are transferred?

回答

Yes, this is possible in RSTAB and RFEM. You can apply nonlinear properties to nodal supports (failure criteria for tension and compression forces, stress-strain diagram, and stiffness diagrams).

The list of the nonlinearities includes the following possibilities:

• Failure of the component if support reaction or moment is negative or positive

• Complete failure of support if support reactions are negative or positive

• Partial activity

• Diagram

• Friction in dependence of other support reactions

Failure if support reaction or moment is negative or positive

The two options control in a simple way if the support can resist only positive or negative reactions or moments. If the internal force (force or moment) acts in the prevented direction, this component of the support fails. The other supports and restraints remain effective.

In contrast to the failure of a single component described above, the support fails completely as soon as the component becomes ineffective.

Nonlinearly acting supports are shown in a different color in the graphic. In the table, a support component with nonlinear properties is indicated by a blue box.
