I have problems when installing programs by Dlubal Software. What can I do?
Before you start the installation, please check if you have administrator rights. The installation starts automatically after you have inserted the DVD. If the AutoRun function is not enabled on your computer, start the file setup.exe from the DVD either in the Explorer or by entering the command "D":\setup.exe in the input field of the Start menu ("D" refers to the drive letter of your DVD drive). Connect the dongle to your computer only after the installation is complete.
Select the language in the start dialog box. There are nine languages available for the installation process. The language of the graphical user interface can be changed anytime after the installation. In the next dialog box, define the program version of RFEM/RSTAB that you want to install: 64‑bit or 32‑bit. Now, follow the instructions of the Installation Wizard.
When the installation process has been completed successfully, connect the dongle (hardlock) to a USB interface on your computer. The dongle driver will be installed automatically.
Full Version / Trial Version
When you start RFEM/RSTAB for the first time after the installation, you have to decide if you want to use the program as a full version or a trial version running for 30 days.
To run the program as a full version, you need a dongle and an authorization file Author.ini. This file contains coded information about your license(s). Usually, we send you the file Author.ini via e-mail. You can also use the Extranet on www.dlubal.com to access the authorization file. Save the file Author.ini on your computer, a USB flash drive etc. Then, enter the directory of the Author.ini file by using the [Browse] button.
Each work station requires the authorization file. You can copy the file as often as you like. However, if the content will be changed, it cannot be used anymore for authorization.
Please check also the date of the file to make sure that you always use the current authorization. Many problems (for example an add-on module running only as demo version) result from outdated authorization files. When you have started RFEM/RSTAB, you can check which add-on modules are registered as full versions by selecting About RFEM/RSTAB and Licenses on the Help menu. To update the authorization without reinstallation, select Load Authorization File on the Help menu.
You can also run the full version without dongle as a so-called softlock licence. Please contact our sales department for detailed information.
When errors occur in the copy process during the installation (for example CRC errors), copy the file setup.exe from the DVD folder Applications → RFEM/RSTAB → 64‑bit or 32‑bit to your hard drive, and start the installation again with this setup.exe file. If the problem cannot be eliminated in this way, close all running applications by using the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del), in particular printer toolboxes, scanner tools and antivirus software. Now try to perform the installation. The drivers and programs that have been stopped will be available again after restarting the computer.
Minor adjustments are required in order to use RFEM and RSTAB also with the rights of a User.
