Indermühle Bauingenieure, Thun, Switzerland
The school building addition in Sutz-Lattrigen was built on the existing foundation floor. This foundation was not designed to withstand a second story. Therefore, the loads from the first floor and the additional second story had to be designed as concentrated loads. In order to reduce weight but also for educational and sustainability reasons, timber was used in the construction of the new building.
Indermühle Bauingenieure, Switzerland
After 2 1/2 + years of construction, the world’s highest 3S cableway "Matterhorn glacier ride" was opened at the end of September 2018. The $55 million project was developed to increase passenger capacity to the Klein Matterhorn sitting at an altitude of 12802 ft. Additionally, it’s now possible to keep the service running when performing maintenance work to the existing tramway.

The modular structure of the school will only remain at the present location for eight years. After this period, 36 timber modules including the screw foundations will be removed entirely and reconstructed at another location. Therefore, a completely new configuration of the floors and the ground plan design will be possible. The simple yet functional structure includes the architectural highlight of a front-facing flight of stairs constructed with timber truss girders.

A 19‑meter‑high, walkable wooden skier named Edy was the symbolic figure of the World Ski Championships 2017 in St. Moritz.The monument is a large replica of the deceased skier Edy Reinalter from St. Moritz.
Edy the sculpture, with a total weight of 18 tons, accompanied all ceremonies in Kulm Park, such as projections, dance and climbing shows, and TV presentations.

A unique structure which roofs the main bus station in the Swiss town of Aarau was built at the end of 2013. The canopy has a cloud-like shape and contains the largest single-chamber cushion in the world. The ETFE cushion has a volume of 63,919.55 ft³ and covers an area of 11,517.38 ft².

In December 2013, a hotel with extraordinary architecture was opened in Davos, Switzerland. The building has the shape of a “Golden Egg” and is situated on a mountainside. The hotel is elliptic in shape with all corners rounded out. It was constructed with reinforced concrete and its external dimensions are about 344 ft x 131 ft.

The bird watching tower in the Reuss river delta is an exceptional look-out construction in the Urner Alps. Its striking primary framework consists of 48 log wood columns standing in an inclined position. From four viewing platforms, people seeking relaxation enjoy the wonderful view into the river delta, and ornithologists can watch nesting birds.

Schweizer Rheinsalinen AG
In May 2012, the new Saldome2 of the Swiss company Salt Works on the Rhine AG was officially put into operation. With a span length of 120 m and a height of 31.6 m the salt storage is the biggest dome structure in Europe. It was designed and built by Häring, a Swiss company specialized in timber technology. The structural analysis was performed by Häring engineers, R. Schneider and C. Zihlmann, using the Dlubal Software programs RSTAB and TIMBER Pro.
