The VisLab company born as a start-up within the University of Parma is at the forefront worldwide in the development of autonomous driving systems for different types of vehicles. His know-how was noticed by the American company Ambarella who decided to make a strategic acquisition in a sector in very strong development that presents a great competition. As a consequence of this, it was necessary to build a new location that can accommodate researchers: by the will of Ambarella herself, the office was maintained in Italy on the campus of the University of Parma.

Two 9 and 6-story residential buildings which include 56 units in total, are the first in France to be certified passive at the height of 9 stories. They are located in seismic zone 4 in the heart of Grenoble’s Flaubert eco-neighborhood. The buildings, constructed with 52,972 ft3 of zinc-coated wood, are both an architectural masterpiece and an innovative achievement to inspire housing sustainability for the next decade.

To meet the needs of an expanding city, the city of Donzère constructed a sporting venue on a large triangular island located at the foot of the historic village. The new structure, dedicated to local schools and clubs, created the opportunity for sporting event practices and competitions.

In 2018, Alì Supermercati decided to extend the existing regional commercial network with a new shopping mall located in Via Noalese, Treviso, Italy. The project, designed by Studio Signorotto Architettura of Treviso, includes a glued-laminated timber roof which integrates with the area’s existing wood structures characterized by a perfect aesthetic design and quality building material.

A timber roof structure was recently constructed over an existing amphitheatre in Jelgava, Latvia. The project located on Pasta Island serves as a multi-functional building for recreational, cultural and social activities.

In June 2018, a new and unique lookout tower by the world-famous architect Martin Rajniš was opened in the Prague municipal district Kyje. When designing the tower, maximum emphasis was placed on natural and renewable material use.

The lookout tower structure is constructed with 3.15 in diameter acacia logs.  The main supporting structure includes three legs where a spiral staircase is also suspended. The tower legs are made of a lattice structure in the shape of an elongated barrel. At the top, the legs are interconnected with three steel hoops and a triangular steel structure.

The tower is 77.1 ft high with the observation platform located 65.5 feet above the ground elevation. The observation tower can hold up to 9 people during typical operations.

This single storey 1,100 m2 nursery school accommodates up to 70 children. The building property is also surrounded by playgrounds and other green spaces.

The school building addition in Sutz-Lattrigen was built on the existing ground floor. This foundation was not designed to withstand a second storey. Therefore, the loads from the first floor and the additional second storey had to be designed as concentrated loads. In order to reduce weight but also for educational and sustainability reasons, timber was used in the construction of the new building.
