First-Aid Course at Dlubal Software

The Dlubal team is now prepared for emergency cases! On March 13-15, 2023, the working day in Tiefenbach was extended by a few hours – all for a good cause and safety at work.

Between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM, 12 employees from Dlubal Software completed various first-aid stations in case of emergency. Our management level was also involved.

"Just a moment," you might think. "What emergency can happen in an office?" In general, the following applies: Most accidents happen in everyday life, which includes everyday work.

Even little things are part of it. Think for a moment: a top step that was definitely not there before or spilled hot coffee that deliberately scalded your forearm. Something like that happens. Of course, there are also life-threatening situations, such as the risk of fire, strokes, or a heart attack. All of this can happen faster than you think – anywhere, including in the office.

Whether at work, on the way home, or within your own four walls: It is all the more important to be prepared for all eventualities. Because if someone is injured or a dangerous situation suddenly occurs, things have to be done quickly. Every move has to be right, every decision has to be the right one – a lot of responsibility.

However, there are first-aid courses to learn something like this or to polish up your dusty knowledge. Under the expert guidance of Mr. Klaus Scherr from BRK Cham, the course participants received a comprehensive introduction to the basics of first aid. Immediate life-saving measures, such as handling a defibrillator, or cardiopulmonary massage, played an important role here.

A theoretical unit was always followed by practice in order to implement what had been learned. Among other things, they learned how to act quickly and effectively in the event of unconsciousness, various injuries, or cardiovascular disorders.

Whether initial wound care or the correct application of bandages – our employees mastered everything with flying colors and were able to look forward to their participation certificates at the end of the course.

The Dlubal team is very grateful for this experience. Of course, we hope that such an emergency does not occur, but it feels good to be prepared in case something should happen. Because as the saying goes: “Everyone should be able to do first aid!"
