Helpful Questions & Answers

  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

In RF‑CONCRETE Surfaces, I obtain a high amount of reinforcement in relation to a lever arm that is almost zero. How is such a small lever arm of internal forces created?

Answer

The situation could be caused by the following conditions:

  • The reinforcement layers are virtually adjacent to each other in the neutral axis of the surface.
  • You have selected a smaller rebar diameter.
  • The cross-section is completely drawn; that is, there is no neutral axis depth.

In this case, the smallest distance between the reinforcement layers is applied as a lever arm. If it is close to zero, the lever arm is also set as close to zero.
