Coupling of surfaces

How can I model a coupling of superimposed surfaces that only borders on one line?

Answer:

If two surfaces lie on top of each other, a contact solid can normally be used (see Links). In Image 01, you can see a relevant example.

If the contact only occurs in one line, the coupling could be modeled with a surface. The problem here is that a surface in two dimensions requires FE elements, so that the usage of members is more efficient. Furthermore, no line release is required for the additional support conditions. A possible modeling is shown in Image 02.

In the example, rigid members with the corresponding member hinges are used. In this case, there is a failure under tension and no moments are transferred. This modeling leads to the result shown in Image 03.

It is clear that the deformation of the right surface in the line corresponds to the left surface at each location.
