Logistics Center in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine

An exciting project was developed in collaboration with Dlubal customer PPVP KARKAS. The logistics center in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine, has several unique features, including steel trusses with a span of 39 m (128 ft) and floors with poor ground properties. The logistics center will be used for storing, packaging, and delivering orders for shipment throughout the country.

The construction site has excellent infrastructure and is located directly next to a motorway. Design of the soil properties showed that the soil was mixed with rubble, concrete debris, and surface water. For this reason, a two-stage drainage system was installed. The lower part keeps layer water away, while the upper part protects against rainwater.

By using RFEM, it was possible to ensure that a crane and a 50-ton 3-axle mixer could drive on the constructed concrete base slab without deformation or cracking.

The steel connections were designed using the “Steel Joints” add-on. Based on the poor soil conditions, the “Geotechnical Analysis” and “Construction Stages Analysis (CSA)” add-ons were indispensable. In addition, the “Structure Stability,” “Concrete Design,” “Steel Design,” and “Warping Torsion (7 DOF)” add-ons were used.
