This project deals with structural evaluation against climatic loads and the utilization and seismic analysis of an existing telecommunications tower performed by SAQQARA INGENIERIA S.L., a customer of Dlubal Software. The structure is a lattice tower with a square section plan, made of steel cross-sections, with a radar and the necessary auxiliary equipment installed on it, including a spherical radome as a mimicry.
The extension in the Bohnau business park is not only sustainable, but also particularly innovative. For the first time in Germany, a connection system for cross-laminated timber floors without any downstand beams, though providing large spans, has been implemented.
The accessible outdoor recreation structure Malahat SkyWalk viewing tower and walkway is an exciting new tourism project located on southern Vancouver Island.
High Point "E" is a residential building with approximately 107,639 ft² of living space (13-story residential building on a 2-story base structure with a 2-story underground parking garage).
In 2017 Scaldaferro, a Torrone manufacturer in Dolo (Venice) and owner of the historic building "Locanda alla Posta", contracted Ri-Legno S.r.l., a leading company in timber reconstruction, to deal with the building's 55.7 ft x 52.4 ft timber roof.
EGOIN SA was awarded a timber design project for 35 new CLT apartments in Girona, Spain. Cross-laminated timber (CLT) was selected as the building material due to its sustainability, ability to filter CO2, and architectural design freedom.
VisLab, a start-up at the University of Parma, is a global leader in autonomous driving system development for various vehicle types. The American company Ambarella became aware of VisLab’s mission in a rapidly developing area characterized by strong competition, and decided to strategically acquire the company. As a result, a new location for headquarters to accommodate this research was required. Ambarella preferred the research center to remain on the University of Parma campus in Italy.
The ALBYR Structures team was commissioned to design a new industrial hall in a high seismic activity region. The hall includes seven interior double-hinged frames with tapered beam ends as well as floor levels for offices. The columns were designed to support crane girders for a 5.5-ton crane.
The EGT Group’s new St. Georgen location was to have a future-oriented design, taking into consideration both energy efficiency and sustainability. The new four-story oval building consists mainly of timber and was constructed in just four short weeks.
Two 9- and 6-story residential buildings, which include 56 units in total, are the first in France to be certified passive at the height of 9 stories. They are located in seismic zone 4, in the heart of Grenoble’s Flaubert eco-neighborhood. The buildings, constructed with 52,972 ft3 of zinc-coated wood, are both an architectural masterpiece and an innovative achievement to inspire housing sustainability for the next decade.
In 2018, Alì Supermercati decided to extend its existing regional commercial network with a new shopping mall located in Via Noalese, Treviso, Italy. The project, designed by Studio Signorotto Architettura of Treviso, includes a glued-laminated timber roof, which integrates with the area’s existing wood structures, characterized by a perfect aesthetic design and quality building material.
Witteveen+Bos performed seismic analysis on an existing concrete foundation with piers, located in the Netherlands. The connected steel pipe rack and piping system were included in the analysis.
Utilizing a multimodal response spectrum analysis in RFEM, Witteveen+Bos specified unique response spectra to analyze the structural response induced by this seismic activity.
The FC Campus ("Cube A" and "Cube B"), located directly at the A5 exit Karlsruhe-Nord, consists of two adjacent structural cubes at a slight offset, which leave a lasting impression due to their unique facade design.
Designed to store nearly 2 million library volumes and works of art, the University of Arkansas Library Annex in Fayetteville was built with cross-laminated timber (CLT) roofs, walls, and floors, and glulam beams, columns, and moment frames.
The recent trend in high-rise construction is clearly dominated by timber as the most ecological and environmentally-friendly material. The project promoter Nexity Resolutely is committed to constructive building solutions with a reduced carbon footprint through various labels and certifications included in its several office and commercial timber projects.
Among these is the Palazzo Meridia, which is currently the tallest CLT office building in France. Dlubal customer CBS-Lifteam was responsible for the planning, supply, and installation of the timber structure.
In the Chinese province of Qinghai, near the city of Haixi, a complex of 23 multi-energy plants is being built, combining different technologies to generate energy from renewable resources. The complex comprises a 618.4-foot-high tower of the 50 MW solar power plant; the support structure is expected to be completed in mid-2019.
The solar power plant uses modern CSP (Concentrated Solar Power) technology, which enables the storage of thermal solar energy, thus ensuring continuous power generation even at night.
SWE-Eurodrive GmbH & Co. KG, a German family-owned company operating in the area of drive technology, is expanding its plant at Graben-Neudorf until 2019. The existing plant, with a size of 1,184,030 ft², will be almost doubled. The main components of the extension are a factory building, a combined pedestrian and media bridge, and a road bridge.
