The tree tower has provided a 360-degree view of the "Avondale Forest Park" in Ireland since July 2022. At the same time, the country's first treetop path was created; it was opened by Micheal D. Higgins, President of Ireland.
An impressive roof structure was constructed over the Passion Play open-air theater in Sömmersdorf, Franconia (Germany). The self-supporting spatial steel structure includes a PVC membrane roof covering the 14,908 ft² auditorium. Only four foundations in total support the entire roof structure.
With a height of about 137.8 ft, the lookout tower offers a unique view over the landscape of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, into the Saar Bow Valley and, if the visibility is clear, even as far as the Vosges Mountains. In summer 2012, the first Czech treetop walkway opened in Lipno in the presence of Václav Klaus, then President of the Czech Republic. A path 2,214 ft in length leads to a major tourist attraction: the tree tower.
On the top platform, at a height of 131 ft, visitors can enjoy the wonderful view from the wooden lookout over Šumava National Park and Lipno Dam on the Vltava River. In the center, the tower includes a playground slide 170.6 ft in length, representing the longest closed slide in the Czech Republic.
The path leading through forest treetops has a total length of 4,265 ft and is the longest treetop walk worldwide. It was built in 2009 in the Bavarian Forest National Park in Germany. The walk's principal tourist magnet is the walkable tree tower with a height of 144.3 ft. It consists of a spiral structure with a length of 1,706 ft, directly connected to the 2,559-foot-long treetop walk.
