This thesis focuses on the structural analysis and design of a steel structure of a rectangular sports hall with dimensions 45.00 × 68.75 m. The structure includes stands, with a classical sloping grandstand for seated spectators on one side and a gallery for standing spectators on the other side, supplemented by two rows of seats. Under the gallery is a space for a longitudinal corridor, and changing rooms were integrated between the connections.
The proposed building is located in the town of Letohrad in the district of Ústí nad Orlicí, where a similar building has been previously contemplated. The thesis contains four variants of transverse ties, which were subjected to a structural analysis in the plane and then to a multi-criteria evaluation. The winning option was subjected to a thorough analysis on a spatial model, encompassing the detailing and anchorage solutions. The deliverables encompass technical documentation accompanied by visualizations, providing the investor with a clear depiction of the building's final appearance.
Dlubal software was used in the design process, in particular RFEM for structural analysis and Geo-Zone Tool for wind and snow loads. These tools enabled the design to be processed accurately and efficiently to meet the current requirements of modern construction.
This thesis example shows the practical use of Dlubal software tools in the design of real structures and demonstrates their contribution to the optimization of design solutions.
