Design of Spherical Steel Structure Using Artificial Intelligence

The thesis covers the design of a single-layer steel dome structure with a grid geometry. In the first part, the preliminary volume and key dimensions of the building were determined, and these were used to calculate the self-weight, environmental loads, and live loads.

In order to facilitate the modeling of the structure and its parametrization, enabling easy updating of the geometry, Python programming language and artificial intelligence were used to process mathematical functions
and text descriptions into code.

The objective was to highlight the potential of artificial intelligence in the design industry as a tool for parameterizing construction models and optimizing the generation of complex geometries.
