The project focuses on the design of a monolithic reinforced concrete dome with a diameter of over 50 meters, for a public utility building located in Katowice.
It has a skylight in the center with glazing that brings light into the interior of the facility, with a roof also designed as a small reinforced concrete dome supported on the dome by columns. The dome is supported on reinforced concrete walls, which transfer the load to strip footings.
A finite element analysis program was used to analyze the structure, including the design of individual elements. The entire design was prepared based on the recommendations set out in the Eurocode standards.
The project includes basic information about the facility, determination of loads, results of computer analysis, a list of cross-sections, a cross-section utilization report from the program, and drawing documentation in the form of a preliminary design and the structural design of the facility.
