10 Quick Questions for Andreas Hörold | Marketing Manager

What is it like to work at Dlubal Software? What experiences have our colleagues had? You can read the answers of some of our employees here.

1. Who are you?

My name is Andreas Hörold.

2. What education do you have, and how did you come to Dlubal Software?

I studied civil engineering at the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences. After that, I worked as a structural engineer and project manager for ten years and used RSTAB for the structural calculations. I've always loved the program and enjoyed working with it. In 2010, I became a member of the Dlubal Software team.

3. What are your tasks?

My main tasks are the webinars, the website, processing customer projects, and then there are many everyday tasks.

4. What is important in your job?

My goal is to explain the advantages of our program to interested parties and users. I want to show that the Dlubal programs are powerful and easy to use at the same time. This can be done quite well with the help of webinars, for example. We receive consistently positive feedback.

All information regarding our software should be found on our website. And when looking at the customer projects, you can see what spectacular projects can be designed using our structural analysis programs.

5. What do you look forward to when you come into work in the morning?

Most of all, I look forward to working with my colleagues. I really enjoy clarifying things or accomplishing something together.

6. What excites you about construction or structural engineering in general?

Structural engineering is an important part of creating a structure and making it stable in a long-term perspective. The structural analysis provides the technical part. The task of architects is more creative. But I've always been more interested in the technical part of construction.

7. What has been your best experience so far?

There is not one big experience, but rather many small ones. Which is always nice when you get positive feedback from our users. I like working in a team and also when I work on interesting customer projects. Our company outings are also always very nice.

8. What is your hobby?

I have several hobbies. I enjoy cycling, jogging, and going to the gym. I also like to work in my house and garden.

8. What advice would you give to young graduates for the future?

First of all, I would advise students to gain experience while studying in an engineering office or in a company like ours. I would advise graduates to go in the direction that they enjoyed during their studies.

In general, I would advise young people to live sustainably and, if they have the opportunity in their job, to plan sustainably. You have to live in this environment for a long time.

10. What is your favorite building?

It's actually not one favorite building. There are so many beautiful structures. For example, the Taj Mahal in India. It looks like a castle from a fairy tale.

Since I was at the Eiffel Tower last year, it has also been one of my favorite structures. This is a really fantastic structure.

My favorite building from our customer projects is the Bahá'í Temple in Chile.
