🚀 Exciting New Project: House of Schools at Johannes Kepler University (JKU) in Linz, Austria

We are thrilled to showcase the House of Schools, a remarkable addition to the JKU campus in Linz, completed in 2024. This striking building is a perfect blend of innovative design, functionality, and sustainability, making it the new focal point of the southern campus.

Designed as a flexible office and seminar space, the House of Schools encourages collaboration and knowledge exchange. Its central atrium connects various areas of the building, fostering an open and inviting atmosphere. The ground floor offers a flexible layout, ensuring that the space can adapt to different needs and functions.

A special shoutout to our valued customer, Werkraum Ingenieure ZT GmbH, who was responsible for the structural analysis. The reinforced concrete structure was developed using RFEM, based on a flexible 10 x 10 m grid, providing versatility for the interior design. The use of modern materials, including reinforced concrete, glass, and metal, gives the building a minimalist yet dynamic appearance.

The innovative facade design, with sun protection elements and greenery, creates an engaging play of light and shadow, adding depth and visual interest to the building.

This project exemplifies how advanced structural analysis tools like RFEM enable the realization of future-oriented and sustainable architecture. It’s a prime example of how flexibility and innovation can come together to create a building that supports both functionality and aesthetics.
