We're thrilled to highlight a recent publication in the Journal of Structural Design and Construction Practice where our colleague Mahyar Kazemian explores the progressive damage of the Millennium Dome’s tensile membrane under the intense conditions of Storm Eunice. Using Dlubal Software's RWIND for CFD wind analysis, the study investigates how surrounding urban structures affected local wind patterns, ultimately contributing to the membrane’s partial failure.
The research provides valuable insights into how urban design can exacerbate or mitigate wind effects on large tensile structures, making it an essential reference for improving storm resilience in future architectural and engineering designs.
If you’re interested in wind simulation, check out RWIND and see how it can enhance your analysis!
