🎓 We're excited to highlight a new graduation thesis by Ioanna Skouloumpri from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece.
The project focuses on "Vertical Extension of an Existing Building Using Steel: Case Study and Multi-Criteria Analysis". It explores modern, efficient approaches to expanding existing buildings with steel structural systems.
The work includes a detailed structural assessment of the current building and evaluates potential strengthening needs before adding new floors. It also presents a complete case study of a steel rooftop extension and applies the PROMETHEE multi-criteria analysis method to compare construction scenarios based on technical, economic, and scheduling factors.
This comprehensive study offers valuable insights into safe, efficient, and well-optimized vertical extensions—an increasingly important area in contemporary urban development.
