In the heart of Denver’s RiNo, a bold idea was transformed into an iconic public structure: a giant rhino-shaped climbable sculpture created as part of the South Platte River revitalization project.🦏
Inspired by the creative energy of the RiNo district, the Rhino Climber merges art, play, and advanced structural engineering.💫
Its complex geometry and large scale required a carefully designed prefabricated steel system, supported by RFEM, RWIND, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper, and FEM analysis to ensure structural performance, wind resistance, and efficient fabrication.⚒️
Through close collaboration and a shared 3D model, design, analysis, and fabrication were seamlessly coordinated, making the on-site assembly of large prefabricated components possible.
A great example of how digital workflows and engineering creativity bring ambitious public space concepts to life.🎆
