Training Objectives
To provide the trainees with the necessary tools to use RFEM/RSTAB for simple project analyses according to Eurocode 5 and the National Annexes.
Time Schedule

- Systematic request for a trainee to test the software
- Practical exercises followed by discussions on the difficulties encountered

Introduction to the EC5 standard and calculation principles, as well as the operation with RFEM/RSTAB
Presentation of the modeling tools for timber structures in RFEM/RSTAB
- Timber materials according to several standards
- Definition of simple geometric sections (rectangular,
- Modeling CLT timber panels in RFEM
- Automatic generation of load/result combinations according to EN1990 + EN 1995
Presentation of the main features and the functions of the RF‑/TIMBER Pro add-on module
- Selecting beams/joists to be designed
- Selecting standard and National Annex
- Automatic optimization of timber cross-sections
- Definition of load duration and service classes for the entire structure or by element
- Manual input of buckling or lateral-torsional buckling factors, or import of buckling data calculated with RF‑STABILITY or RSBUCK
- Selecting sides exposed to fire
- Definition of other design parameters (stability, SLS, fire exposure time, and so on)

Note
During the training, each participant will be appointed a single workstation with a personal computer. In addition, participants receive a bag containing the training manual.
