First Steps with RFEM
Question
Is it possible in FOUNDATION Pro to calculate a foundation plate with four support points on the entire plate?
Answer
Generally, FOUNDATION Pro allows you to design pocket and block foundations at nodal supports. You can also design foundation plates, but only for individual columns.
A foundation plate with several supports on the entire plate cannot be handled in this way as the interaction with the other columns and the structural behaviour of the plate are not considered in the pure design of column supports.
For the design of the entire floor plate, the FEA program RFEM is the right choice. In RFEM, you can, for example, import an RSTAB file, extend it with the surface of the foundation plate, and then design it.
