FAQ 005269 | Is it possible to transfer "foundation loads" (support loads from hall columns, for example)...

Question:
Is it possible to transfer "foundation loads" (support loads from hall columns, for example) to another RFEM model and combine them as new loads for the foundation slab?

Answer:
When performing structural calculations, the derivation of forces from the roof to the foundations is one of the central tasks of the calculation, in addition to the dimensioning of the cross-sections.

In a 3D building model, this force flow is ensured automatically by the coherent modeling of ceilings, columns, walls, foundations, and so on. Sometimes, however, you deliberately decide against modeling on the entire model, which then means that you have to perform the load transfer manually.

The "Import Support Reaction as Load..." function, as you know it from RFEM 5, is currently still in development for RFEM 6 and will be launched in an improved form.

However, you can already use a workaround to transfer the support reactions as a load to another model in RFEM 6.

To do this, export the desired line support forces to EXCEL and import them again as line loads in another model file.
