Considering Wind Load Cases 2 and 4 in RFEM 6 According to ASCE 7-22

This article describes the implementation and verification of ASCE 7-22 wind load Cases 2 and 4 in RFEM 6. These cases account for torsional effects caused by non-uniform wind pressures acting on building diaphragms. A verification example using a gable-roof building compares RFEM 6 results with hand calculations performed in accordance with ASCE 7-22 Chapters 26 and 27. The comparison demonstrates close agreement between analytical and software-generated pressures and torsional moments, confirming the accuracy and reliability of RFEM 6’s automated wind load generation for MWFRS design.
