I have a simply supported vertical column subjected to a normal compressive axial force.
I design the structure according to AISC 360-22, and I would expect a stability analysis according to Chapter E. However, the design checks are performed according to Chapter H.
What am I doing wrong?
The cause is that you have the Torsional Warping add-on enabled. The American standard does not take this into account, so it switches to a general stress design.
If you deactivate the add-on, the design will be performed according to Chapter E.
