In RFEM 6 and RSTAB 9, plastic hinges for reinforced concrete beams according to Table 10-7 of the American standard ASCE/SEI 41-17 are available. Based on the standard table, they calculate the hinge behavior of reinforced concrete beams, considering their dependency on the given longitudinal and transverse reinforcement as well as the existing shear force.
The use of hinges requires the Concrete Design add-on as well as either the Pushover Analysis or Time History Analysis add-ons.
