The “Buckling-Restrained Brace” member type allows you to model standardized and composite BRB cross-sections in the cross-section library of RFEM and RSTAB.
The cross-sections have exclusively axial properties, with the surface of the steel core of the BRB composite cross-sections (Asc) being the most important parameter. The new material takes into account three factors required for the analysis of BRB elements: the stiffness modification factor, the compressive strength adjustment factor, and the hardening adjustment factor.
