The new edition of the Technical Standard for Cold-Formed Steel Structures was released in September 2025, introducing substantial revisions compared to the 2002 version.With the release of this new Add-on version, we have not only updated the material properties, design criteria, detailing requirements, and width-to-thickness ratio requirements for compression plate elements, but also revised the member calculation methods in Chapter 5. In addition, the most significant difference from the previous code is the inclusion of the Direct Strength Method (DSM) calculation in Appendix C. This method signifies that China's design standards are beginning to align with more advanced international calculation methods.
