Is it possible to align nodal support to a rotated member in RSTAB 8 without having to measure the angle and enter it?

Answer

Yes, it is possible.

On the one hand, you can define the rotation about the Z-, Y-, or X-axis by selecting 2 or 3 nodes. Find the corresponding command in the button to the right of the input field for the rotation angle. See Figure 01.

If you have entered a member that has been rotated about its own axis (for example a purlin on a sloped roof), you can use the "Member Rotation ß" to rotate the nodal support. See Figure 02.
