Question

Is it possible to orient a nodal support towards a rotated member in RSTAB 8 without having to measure the angle and enter it?

Answer:
Yes, it is.

You can define the rotation about the Z-, Y-, or X-axis by selecting 2 or 3 nodes. Find the corresponding command button to the right of the text box for the rotation angle. See Image 01.

If you have entered a member that is rotated about its own axis (for example, a purlin on an inclined roof), you can import the "Member Rotation ß" to the rotation of the nodal support. See Image 02.
