Rotating Model About Selected View

If you consider rotating the structure shown in the figure about the global Y‑axis, this might be not straightforward. In order to achieve better handling, the axle is always locked in the direction of your view. In the case of very high structures, it may be helpful to rotate the view about 90 degrees in the viewing direction.

On the one hand, this can be done by using a 3D mouse. On the other hand, you can change the view by clicking ‘View’ → ‘Viewpoint’. In this way, it is possible to rotate the view of the structure shown in the picture about the global Z‑axis. In order to avoid changing the view using the menu after switching the viewpoint, you can save the modified view in ‘Project Navigator - Views’.
