Static and Strength Analysis of Mast Structure with Various Guy Wires Configurations

The subject of the Master's thesis is a structural and strength analysis of a mast structure with various guy wire configurations.

The analyzed mast has a height of 91 meters. The stability of the structure is ensured by guy ropes arranged on two levels.

The aim of the thesis is to compare different guy configurations and to evaluate their influence on the load-bearing capacity, stiffness, and displacements of the structure under environmental actions, such as wind and ice loads, as well as the self-weight of the mast.
The analysis was carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Eurocodes, using the calculation software RFEM 6, Frilo, and IdeaStatica.

Chapter one serves as an introduction, presenting the scope and objectives of the thesis as well as describing existing and historical guyed masts, which constitute a point of reference for further analyses.

Chapter two presents the characteristics of the structure and its basic components.

Chapter three covers the determination of the loads acting on the mast, with particular emphasis on climatic actions. Chapter four contains a description of the numerical model and the analysis of results obtained in RFEM 6, while chapter five presents the connection calculations performed in IdeaStatica.

Chapter six includes the design of the foundations using Frilo software.

In Chapter seven, manual calculations of selected structural elements are presented, confirming consistency with the results obtained using numerical methods.

Chapter eight compares the mast structure for different guy inclination variants, indicating the range of the most advantageous solutions.

Chapter nine contains final conclusions, summarizing the results of the analyses and formulating the key observations regarding the behavior of the mast structure.

The appendices include calculation reports, lists of internal forces, load combinations, as well as overall and fabrication drawings of the mast.
