Ever wondered how to maximize storage in tight spaces?
Check out this impressive project in Brussels, Belgium! Almacon Storage Systems BV designed a two-tier steel mezzanine in a warehouse to boost storage capacity without compromising on strength. The result? A resilient and efficient solution with extraordinary load-bearing performance.
Using SHS columns and cold-formed C-sections, the primary and secondary beams support a floor made entirely of steel gratings—ensuring a 500 kg/m² load capacity. The structural design also incorporates cross bracings for added stability, and the beams’ eccentric connection to the columns introduces a double moment for enhanced performance.
The project was analyzed in RFEM using our Steel Design add-on, enabling precise design and seamless integration.
