🔔 New Customer Project: Bell Tower in Bleibach, Germany 🌳
The Bell Tower in Bleibach, designed by our customer Wirth Haker, has become a striking landmark for the small town. Replacing the demolished church tower, this timber structure beautifully complements the church tent built in the 1970s with its unique and playful design.
Key features of the tower:
▪️ Height: Almost 34 m (111.6 ft)
▪️ Floor plan: An equilateral triangle symbolizing the Holy Trinity
▪️ Constructed from cross-laminated timber for high stiffness and durability
▪️ Acetylated wood (Accoya) used for the facade and roof, offering weather resistance and protection from fungi and insects
▪️ Metal strips dividing the tower into floors, adding a modern touch
The tower serves as both a bell tower and a viewing point for visitors, with its dynamic design transferring the loads from the swinging bells with ease. The RFEM software by Dlubal helped Wirth Haker calculate the tower's structure, ensuring precision and efficiency.
A great example of timber engineering meeting architectural innovation! 🌲🔧
