First Steps with RFEM
Description
RFEM, RSTAB, and SHAPE‑THIN are localized in eleven languages. All languages are available at no extra charge. The language of the program interface can be defined in the menu "Options" → "Program Options." The language for the printout is independent of the language of the program interface. Thus, you can create a Spanish printout report in an Italian user interface, for example.

Increased Calculation Performance by Reducing the Nodal Degrees of Freedom
The number of degrees of freedom in a node is no longer a global calculation parameter in RFEM (6 degrees of freedom for each mesh node in 3D models, 7 degrees of freedom for the warping torsion analysis). Thus, each node is generally considered with a different number of degrees of freedom, which leads to a variable number of equations in the calculation.
This modification speeds up the calculation, especially for models where a significant reduction of the system could be achieved (e.g. trusses and membrane structures).
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- We have a project for which the complete output is in English. In the printout report, we have changed the language from German to English by using "Settings → Language." We have noticed that some terms are not translated. How can we adjust this?
- How can I change the language of the graphical user interface?
- What languages are available in the Dlubal Software programs?
- Is it possible to create the printout report in another language?
- How can I change the language in the RX‑TIMBER add-on module?
- I cannot manage to correctly import the cross-section from a dxf file into the SHAPE‑THIN program, the imported cross-section is in a wrong plane. What can I do?
- The installation of a Dlubal Software program is not possible due to the following message: "Program unsafe, protection by Microsoft Defender SmartScreen." How can I install the program?
- I get the following message when starting all installed Dlubal programs (also when running as administrator): "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002)." What can I do?
- In SHAPE‑THIN, I get the error message saying that the material library cannot be opened. I have reinstalled the program and integrated the material library of another computer, but without any success. What should I do?
- The calculation of a file runs smoothly for my colleagues, but I get the message "Calculation stopped" for the same file. What should I do?
