According to EN 1993-1-1, it is only possible to increase the material factor based on the applied stresses if stability analyses are not performed according to the equivalent member method. Since the equivalent member design checks are activated in the next tab, "Stability", by default, this check box is grayed out.
After deactivating the equivalent member design, this checkbox is enabled and activated by default.
