Question

Why is the strength always reduced by the kmod value of 0.6 during the calculation in the RF‑LAMINATE add‑on module, although I have load combinations with variable loads?

Answer:

In RF‑LAMINATE, it depends whether you are designing a result combination or the load combinations included in it.

If you select load combinations for the design in General Data, the shortest load duration of the included load cases will be applied. If you select the corresponding result combination for the design, the result combination envelope will be calculated, but not the included load combinations. Since it is not clear from which load cases the maximum or the minimum value will result for an envelope, for this result combination, the "permanent" load duration is used for the design as a precaution. However, this entry can be changed in Window 1.4.

When designing the result combination, the advantage is the faster calculation; it is especially advantageous for a preliminary design of a very large structure. If the governing load cases are known, we recommend modifying the load duration class in Window 1.4.

To perform a more precise calculation, please select the corresponding load combination for the design in General Data.
