Using Contact Solids or Layered FE Mesh for Curved Surfaces

Is it possible to use a contact solid or a layered FE mesh for a solid also in the case of curved surfaces? Because I get Error No. 848.

Answer:

Yes, a contact solid or a layered FE mesh can also be used for curved surfaces. However, the following restrictions apply:

  • The surface is only simply curved.
  • The curved surfaces are modeled by means of concentric circles (see Image 01).

The easiest way to create the lines is to use the "Set Parallel Line" feature (see Image 02).
