Design of Joints with Axial Force and Moment in RF-/JOINTS Steel – Rigid

Does RF‑/JOINTS Steel – Rigid allow designing a joint for the simultaneous action of an axial force and a moment for a beam-to-column connection?

Answer:

In RF‑/JOINTS Steel – Rigid, the design is implemented according to EN 1993‑1‑8, Section 6.2.7, Equation 6.24. If the design axial force exceeds 5% of the plastic resistance Npl, Rd, Equation 6.24 applies.
