In the global settings of the design add-ons, you can change the analysis method. This option affects the calculation time. There are three options available: Enumeration Method, Envelope Method, and Mixed Method. The envelope method should be the fastest one.
Enumeration Method
The “Enumeration Method" calculates all combinations of loads and results from the design situation individually. This usually leads to the most accurate results, but can increase the calculation time.
Envelope Method
Using the “envelope method”, the envelope internal forces of all load combinations and result combinations in the design situation are first calculated and then designed. This usually results in a shorter calculation time compared to the “enumeration method”.
Mixed Method
Using the “mixed method”, you can define an upper limit for the number of load combinations and result combinations of a given design situation, for which the “enumeration method” is to be used for the design. If the number of load combinations and result combinations exceeds this upper limit, the design is performed using the “envelope method”.
