The higher the basic reinforcement is defined in RF-BETON surfaces, the greater the required reinforcement determined by the module. Why is that?


In the module there are options for the reinforcement to be taken into account for the lateral force detection. For the lateral force carrying capacity VRd, c, the attached longitudinal reinforcement has an influence. The options allow you to choose the longitudinal reinforcement with which the shear force proof is to be guided:

The lateral force verification can be performed using the following reinforcement:

  • mathematically required reinforcement
  • maximum value from required or existing reinforcement
  • automatically increasing the longitudinal reinforcement so that shear reinforcement is avoided

For example, if the second option is selected and the basic reinforcement can be used to avoid lateral force reinforcement, the basic reinforcement is selected and output as required.
