Information Modeling and Interoperability in Structural Design of Timber Structures

The goal of the introduction of IT systems is often the automation of calculation processes. With the increasing rationalization in this area, the efficient design of interfaces for the data exchange is becoming increasingly important. The problem is that in the case of a classic file-oriented interface transfer, the information content is reduced. This in turn leads to the transfer and interpretation errors.

Against this background, the trend towards interoperability arose. Based on industry-specific object models, the objective of the thesis is to provide methods for the design, calculation, and analysis of individual elements or components.
