Post-Critical Analysis of Dome Segment

During the research work, an uncommon case of failure has been encountered, occurring in this type of a dome structure: the post-critical failure.

After detailed investigations, the author found out that the calculation method for such a failure case is based on the large deformation analysis. This means that in contrast to the second-order analysis, it is necessary to consider relatively large deformations for the calculation until a new stable equilibrium is found iteratively on the deformed system.
