Design of Arch Bridge

The master thesis "Design of Arch Bridge" is focused on the development and design of arches and arch bridges. It includes the conceptual design of the bridge structure. The theoretical part of the thesis comprises partly of the historical research of the topic (arches and arch bridges) and of the analysis of the benefits of various shapes of fixed arches.

The main part of the thesis presents the conceptual design and evaluation of the road bridge over a valley with maximum span 140.00 m and with a total length of 266.9 m. The project is tackled as an arch bridge with prestressed bridge deck. Calculations are performed according to the current standard ČSN EN and resolve the issue of arrangement of the structural elements of the bridge, design of prestressing, reinforcement of key elements of the bridge, stability of the structure and construction phases.
