Prefabricated Hollow-Box Timber Panels for Floors and Roofs

This thesis investigates the aptitudes of prefabricated timber hollow-box boards that are used as slabs. A comparison is made with the panels that are already present in the market.

Moreover, a test through a software is proposed. In the laboratory, an alternative is made of a timber fastener to unite its elements without adhesive. When bambu rings are placed where it exists more effort, the resistance increases up to 240%.

This fact, combined with the high capacity to solve long spans, its possibility to include acoustic and thermal insulators and installations, and its easy deconstruction and sustainability, makes of those wooden boards an alternative able to compete with the present constructive systems.
