University Library Building Design

Due to the large dimensions of the structure, which is devided into ten dilated segments, two symmetrical sections of the structure were analyzed. For those analytical and computer design of plates and columns was performed, while beam design, plate punch analysis and foundations design were performed only with help of FEA program. The building is fully symmetrical along its longitudinal axis (ship shape of building), the object does not have a constant height - it differs depending on the segment.

The main goal of the thesis was the design of selected construction elements of a reinforced concrete university library made in monolithic technology. The design of the building is based on a mixed system - all structural elements (beams, columns, walls and slabs) work together.
